            Since June 2012, the Wisconsin BBB has received numerous inquiries from consumers across the country regarding a "Reader's Digest Sweepstakes".  If you receive a check from “Reader's Digest Sweepstakes” from American Family Insurance Group, the Wisconsin BBB believes that this check is counterfeit. If you receive a letter and check from this company and you are asked to deposit the check into your personal account, withdraw money and wire it overseas, use extreme caution. It has been the experience of the BBB that these checks are usually counterfeit. If the check is counterfeit, you will owe your bank the amount that you withdrew from your account. You will not receive any winnings, and you won't be able to recover the money that you wired.

              American Family Insurance has been a headache to deal with. For the past 4 months, a refund has been owed to me in the amount of $180 and $130. I have spoken to multiple representatives and they all continue to lie regarding when payment went out. I have provided the correct mailing address and get the checks still to date have not come. No one there helps as they should. I need help getting my funds or I will have to go to small claims next.

              Better hope your car is not damaged by an American Family policy holder. If they accept responsibility they are going to put you in the smallest car possible. Unfortunately they refuse to put us in a comparable SUV to what we own and have decided to authorize an active family of 5 a compact vehicle. If we want a similar sized vehicle we have the privilege of paying for it. Imagine putting a family of 5 plus soccer, softball and tennis gear in a Carolla. Unfortunately, the representative I spoke to said its the "state law" says they only need to authorize a rental vehicle, and their company policy only authorized the minimum expectations.
