    9/10/08Ashley Furniture Industries, Inc. has informed the Better Business Bureau that the "Ashley Furniture" name is being used on the Internet by someone not associated with Ashley Furniture Industries, Inc., to perpetrate work-at-home and counterfeit check scams. Between November 2007 and August 2008, the company has received almost 8,000 inquiries from consumers who have received bogus email messages from scammers pretending to represent Ashley Furniture Industries, Inc. Generally, the scam email message informs consumers of a fictitious work-at-home position as an Ashley Furniture accounts receivable employee. Consumers who responded to the scam were sent counterfeit checks by the scammers, were instructed to deposit the counterfeit checks into their personal accounts, to deduct a commission, and to wire the remainder to someone representing themselves to be an "Ashley Furniture Representative". These bogus job offers and the people perpetrating these scams are NOT affiliated with or connected to Ashley Furniture Industries, Inc. The company does not offer work-at-home jobs. If you have received one of these suspicious email messages, Ashley Furniture Industries, Inc., would like you to forward the email message to [email protected]. Ashley Furniture Industries, Inc., has also posted a response page on its website http://www.ashleyfurniture.com/Feedback/OnlineScam.aspx .If you are the recipient of one of these bogus, work-at-home job offers, here is some advice from the BBB: * If the "company" sends you a check, asks you to deposit it into your personal account, and wire funds overseas, stop immediately. This is a red flag that the check is counterfeit.* Don't assume that the check is legitimate just because your bank accepts it for deposit. It may take weeks for the bank to learn it's counterfeit. *If the check is counterfeit, you will owe the bank the amount of the check that was deposited over your endorsement (plus any applicable penalties). You're the one that is ultimately liable to your financial institution. *You will not be able to recover your funds from the money wire service. Once the money has been sent, it's gone!*If you are a victim of this scam, you should contact your local law enforcement agency.

    Purchased an entirely new bedroom set for my sons birthday in June 2022. First red flag was during assembly. I noticed there was no headboard. It was shown in every single photo of the bed frame. Every. One. So of course I assumed it was part of the frame, not a separate piece. Contacted customer service and was told it cost extra and if I wanted to pay for it, she would put the order in for me. Said no but was offered a pathetic partial refund on the cost of the *********** forward to today, April 6, 2024. The bed frame broke. The slats completely detached from the frame. Guess what? Held together by **** and staples. We have no large pets that would damage the frame. My son sleeps alone. There is absolutely no reason that less than two years of use should cause the issues.

    Absolutely abysmal customer service. I caution anyone looking to buy furniture from Ashley to think very hard before doing so. Purchased my very first couch and ottoman in February '24. Received the ottoman within a few days, no issue. However, the couch was scheduled to be delivered over a month later. I paid an extra $100 for assembly and delivery, which is practically mandatory. I waited for over a month only to be called a couple days before scheduled delivery and informed that the couch that I had been charged for (and paid for!) was actually discontinued and did not exist. I was told someone would follow up promptly, but I never received a call. I have had to call customer service myself 2 separate times only to be informed that my refund of the ottoman is contingent on me donating the item, per their policy and providing them a receipt. No where in their policy does it state this. They then outright refused to arrange a pickup because it was after the 30-day return window and I did not have the original packaging. I asked if I had any recourse, and they told me, "no", and they would not issue a refund if I didn't provide them a receipt for them to use for tax write-off purposes. Ashley created this problem for me and told me I had to solve it to get my money back! I've never been so appalled at a company's customer service team. This company is atrocious to their customers and their customer service is beyond rude. I will never purchase from them again and I'd advise anyone reading to take your business to literally anyone else.
