they have the worst web site when you try and return anything and when you have a incomplete order. They try and make you pay them when you don't want to do business with these crooks.Review from Ian R

On or about November 13, 2023, I ordered a cabin air filter and and an air filter online from RockAuto. Both parts arrived without issue but the air filter did not fit and was damaged green coloring scattered on it. Despite communications with RockAuto to ship me a new part, they could not guarantee I would receive the proper part if they sent it to me again, nor could they guarantee that I would not occur some sort of charge to return the part and be sent a new one. After several back and forths, they told me the 30 day window for refunds had expired. This window was never mentioned in any of the email correspondence nor on the product or delivery receipts. On Jan 2, I asked to be refunded for the $29.66 USD for the part and estimated shipping costs. RockAuto refused.Review from Anthony M

Website is a jumbled mess, was sent parts that don't fit my trim level of a vehicle they had listed for, after receiving parts I confirmed with the manufacturer of the parts that it's wrong. Had to pay for shipping on the return, wasn't issued a full refund on even the sales tax that I paid and was gaslit during my email correspondence. I can't wait to seek an attorney over this matter.Review from Jacek T

I ordered the Dynamic Friction Brake Disc Rotors. I have paid the *** ground shipping $23.98 to have them delivered to my address. They had shipped completely different looking disc rotors from their advertised info on their website. The moment I received the shipment I have checked the disc rotors just to find out they are the wrong parts shipped. I started the return process and to my surprise I have to pay for the return shipping, even if this was not my fault at all. This time they generating the return labels ***** Ground $22.27 or **** $144.63 stating that amount will be deducted from my refund. There is no way you can contact by phone nor email non existent customer service! What a bummer. Any emails received during the purchase process will bounce back to you, so you can not contact them at all. I highly recommend stay away from this "company" I am done doing any business with them in the future. They are scum!Review from Giovonni G.

I ordered a started by the brand “Pure energy 17825N” via the rock auto website. Today March 12, 2024, after trying to crank my car, I noticed smoke coming out of the hood. I pull the hood open, and see the starter caught fire. If I can’t get a refund, I want store credit, because this is unacceptable. I do not feel safe with a replacement. The original OEM Toyota denso starter that was inside of my 2008 Camry since the car was manufactured in 2007 never gave me these issues before it finally wore out completely last year late 2023. I’m only resorting to a complaint here because rock auto has no customer service, and no way of at least emailing them with my serious and urgent issue.Review from Michael R

I've used RockAuto for years and years and before they were as well known. Recently I had read a lot of complaints about them and was surprised as I always had good luck. Now I see why as today they lost me as a customer due to a total smart *** email reply I got from the customer service rep. I was trying to split a payment and I did exactly as described, yet it wouldn't work on their end. I tried 5 times and each time the charge would hit my card as expected, but RockAuto's system kept saying incorrect billing address. RockAuto themselves would have to send a void to my card so the charge could be reversed so how is that my issue? The smarty pants rep condescendingly used italics for emphasis in her email to try and look down on me and basically said it was MY problem and closed the ticket without trying to help. I will no longer buy from them and I suggest you avoid them as well.Review from Chad K

I have ordered from Rock Auto for many years. This past order has been a NIGHTMARE!!! We needed parts to fix my daughters car, ordered and they shipped it 2/11/24. For some STUPID reason, the shipment went to ****** ****!!!! After filing a complaint with USPS the shipment finally came back to *******, then all the way (out of the way) to ***** ****** where it is sitting 3 states away and it is now 3/6/24 and we still dont have the part!! There is NO ONE AVAILABLE at Rock Auto to ask about this. This is the worst customer service I have ever delt with. If I could give it a negative star rating I would...Review from Jayk M

This would be a one star review but the initial problem was oversight on my side of the deal. Although the description was deceptive at best and interesting how they do not have a contact email or contact phone number listed for customers. I will never buy anything from RockAuto again. Here is why. I purchased an ignition cylinder lock for my Toyota Tundra 2023. There are a lot of different styles of Toyota Tundra but their drop down options would only let you choose 4wd and V8 which matches my truck. Then I believed the parts listed would fit my truck. I figured no problem as I would return the part if it doesn't fit. Sure enough it didn't fit and I could see it wasn't the same as I finally compared it to my original part (although it was a subtle difference.) I purchased a different brand part and told the local auto part store I would go outside and see if it fit and bring back the part if it didn't for a quick return on my money. They said OK. The part fit fine. Totally worth staying local for less of a hassle. Now I needed to see if I could return the ****** part from RockAuto. Next, I go thru a big hassle of survey questions regarding why I want to return the part. Here RockAuto highlights a tiny print memo after the part description that says "this is for standard cabs"? Why didn't the pull down option list standard, crew, extended at the beginning of the search along with Toyota Tunda V8 etc? This is **! Deceptive! Last, the return postage email is created in a way to make it impossible to print. Luckily I'm a printing specialist and know a work around and was able to resize their hugely zoomed out email with huge graphics. The end result is they won't accept my part anyway because it doesn't look new due to the scratches. I have spent more time dealing with the hassle compared to the time it took me to replace the part which I purchased from a local auto part store. Plus I'm out around $90 for dealing with RockAuto.Review from Ryan Y

I've done business with rockato for over a decade and they've always been great to me, even when i've ordered the wrong parts. Most of these reviews don't reflect my experience at all.
