Complaint: Fox valley veterinary service performed vaccinations on my *** ****** on 1/25/12. Previous to that day, I called to prepay for these vaccinations since I was not going to be present when they were given. I told the receptionist that I wanted to prepay for a Coggins test, 5 way vaccine and a West Nile Virus vaccine for each *****. She gave me the totals for those vaccines. When my invoice/receipt arrived, after the services were performed, I noticed my bill was $50.00 higher. They charged me $25.00/***** extra for an exam fee. This exam was not authorized by me to be performed on my *****s. It was also never discussed with the receptionist when I was prepaying over the phone for these services. I have had several email conversations with **** *********, Practice Manager of Fox Valley. She stated that an exam is required with every vaccination. I was never told this when I prepaid for my services. Ms. ********* even told me, in an email, that the receptionist did not discuss this with me. How I can be held responsible for a charge that was never told to me or authorized by me? I checked with 3 other veterinary clinics ** ******* ******** ****** ****** *** ******l and this is not standard practice. An exam is not required for a simple vaccine and must be asked for by the client. I have my entire email conversation with Ms. ********* if that is of any help. I feel this is a very dishonest practice. I would expect to be charged for any service that I authorized or was even told about. I do not feel I should pay for an exam that was never discussed with me and done without my permission.

Desired Settlement: I would like my $50.00 refunded

Your response to Ms. ****** can be, that we have decided that we have to be better at discussing costs with clients. We will refund her $50.00. But I need to wait to make sure her credit card payment has gone thru, because she told me she was going to cancel it. So I will have to wait to see that, and then we will mail her the $50.00.
