I bought my home May 2022. I was told by property management that since the home was manufactored in ********* then transported that sometimes things go awry and to make a list of items that needed repairs. I was not given a time-line, just told when I was ready. One of the first things I noticed was that when my central air came on, the vinyl flooring in my kitchen lifted and would ****** when you walked across it, which could be seen over 75% of the entire floor. After A YEAR and countless phone calls, Skyline finally came to my home to start repairs in late May 2023. At that time my main concerns were my kitchen floor and a broken window in the master bedroom. The technician called me and informed me that the window couldn't be fixed, he'd have to come back to replace it, as well as finishing the other items on my list...I asked about my kitchen floor and he said he would look at it when he came back to replace the window. It took weeks for him to return, and when he did around June 15th, he called to tell me that he replaced the window and that he took pictures of my floor but that it might be a while for him to come back as there were only 2 technicians and they covered multiple states. I told him I would be as patient as I can as long as it got resolved, to which he assured me it would. I was trying to be courteous and understanding but after SIX MONTHS of not hearing anything, I finally contacted Skyline directly (up until this point all communication was through my property manager) on December 8th, 2023 to inquire about it. I spoke to ******* in service and she informed me that no work order or any kind of information was in the system about my flooring, or any of the other repairs. She gave me her email address and told me to send her a list of the repairs, to which I also included photos. She informed me that the technicians would be to my house the first week of January. After over a month of no contact I once again contacted Skyline on January 24th and was told they'd be to my home early February. Even at this point I was still being courteous and understanding but getting very frustrated and expressed my concern to her that I didn't want Skyline to try and say anything about a warranty since I've been trying to get this resolved for going on 2 years and the flooring was 10x worse than it was in the beginning and was now damaged from furniture and foot traffic, to which she assured me that wouldn't be an issue. The technician ******* finally came to my home on February 5th and after doing numerous other repairs, took pictures of my kitchen floor and stated that it could have been caused by a loose air vent, which made sense since that's how I first noticed it is when the air was running. He informed me that because of the complexity of the repair that Skyline might offer me a payout for the damages, which I expressed that I hoped that wouldn't happen since I just wanted it fixed and wanted it to match the flooring throughout the rest of my house. I once again expressed concern about Skyline potentially claiming it wasn't under warranty to which, once again, I was assured would not be an issue since it was OBVIOUSLY a manufactorer defect. He said he would pass on the photos to his manager and that someone would reach out to me. In clear Skyline fashion there was zero communication, and again after another month I called Skyline on March 8th and left a message asking for a call back. On March 11th, I finally received a call and lo and behold, was told they only cover "cosmetic" repairs for *************************************************************************** December that there is nothing they would do. He also tried claiming that by looking at the photos that my furniture is what caused the damage, which is untrue and completely irrelevant; homes are supposed to be able to have furniture in them, my furniture wouldn't have caused damage if there wasn't an issue with the flooring to begin with. To say that I extremely upset is an understatement. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. After almost 2 YEARS of waiting and hounding them they are giving every excuse as to why they won't fix their mess up. After buying this house brand new I should not have to pay out of pocket to replace my kitchen floor after 2 years when I reported this issue within the first 2 months of owning it. My property manager has documented proof that the issue was reported in July 2022 but Skyline has yet to try and remedy this situation.
