Lakeland was hired for a full remodel of our home. Over the last 1.5 years, there have been numerous problems caused by Lakeland. The contractor, *****, moved out of state without informing us and lied about it. He subbed out the project to a local contractor, ****. The work performed by **** was sub par. The main issues are poor carpentry work, plumbing issues still occurring with our 2nd floor toilet even after replacing it, poor siding work and caulking, poor floor refinishing (gaps and cracks and hair and dirt in finish), damage to personal property, our electrical box in the basement is leaking water. Lakeland delayed our move in date by months, which cost us a lot of money, and then still had not completed the job by our move in date. They missed their own deadlines. They damaged personal property- light fixtures, vanities, vanity tops, carelessly had paint sprayed on our cabinets and countertops, did not clean up after themselves (we took trips to the dump and had to clean for many hours after we moved in. They ruined our new tile and I had to use solvent to attempt to get stains and marks off of it. We had to be available for countless repairs and fixes to be done after move in, and things still werent done well. This cost us time in missed work. My husband and I had to manage this project often due to ***** being out of state and not telling us, and the incompetence of the teams he left to work on our home. Over this project, we had to alert the contractors to problems every time we visited the home. It felt like we were doing their job. We helped them find plumber options when their own plumber stopped responding to them. We found leaks in the home on several occasions. We found damage to cabinets they installed which delayed the date of install of cabinets. They never cleaned the worksite in time which delayed the refinishing of the floors.
