    On 20 July *****, the transmission for my 2008 ** was delivered to Central Transmission for repair. The original cost I was given on a business card says $2800. The amended amount was paid in full by 8/7/23. On 8/1/23, my mechanic was told that it was NOT done. On 8/7 the transmission was retrieved. it was re-installed in my car and on 8/21 it was reported to me that the transmission was NOT working and the ** won't shift. Calls to Central Transmission began to pile up as I tried to get this resolved: 8/21:4 calls, 8/22: 4 calls, etc. I have a record of all calls made on my smart phone. My ** is undrivable. I offer to have the ** towed to Central and *** (owner) tells me his lot has no room and it is not safe. The calls continue: often to full answering machines or no answers. 9/5/23 *** offers to tow for free on 9/6. On 9/12 the ** was towed to Central Transmission. Again voicemail was full and no answer at the shop. *** then told me it was being towed on 9/15. That didn't happen. On 20 Sept I was told that *** had the car on a rack and was fixing the **. That was not communicated by ***. I had no idea where my car was or why it had not been repaired. I'm a 70 year old veteran in poor health and on a fixed income. He took my money, still has my car and I'm missing doctor ************ and care I need. It has been 10 weeks this Friday.

    WOW! If I could rate this shop negative 10 stars I would. At least from the other bad reviews it looks like Rob treats all his customers the same, with his deer in the headlights, Huh? Wha...? I dunno act. He had my work truck for over a year fixing a simple drip (under warranty) on a new transmission he had just installed that we paid in full months prior. After months of hardly any communication, it was always “We’ll have it wrapped up by tomorrow and I will give you a call”. He never called. I would physically have to drive down there to talk to him or send my son to get an update. Even then, I was very understanding that some things take a while and cut him some slack. It was not until the police showed up at my house around midnight one night saying they found our truck plates on a stolen vehicle. They were stolen off my truck while sitting at his shop because a lot of the vehicles sit out in the open, and it had been sitting there for MONTHS. When I called Rob the next morning to let him know the truck plates were stolen, Rob had no idea what I was talking about. What? I asked him to please do whatever you can to fix the issue and I would like to pick it up within the next couple of days and he promised he would move it to the locked portion of the lot. After more months of no communication (I also run a business and don’t have time to call Rob every day and hound him unfortunately) we tried to pick it up again. My son drove by the yard, and this time there was a broken window, and the brand-new stereo was stolen out of it. Again, Rob had no idea this happened and said,” well...we are in a kind of a bad neighborhood.” He assured me this was now a priority, and he would now replace the window and stereo and call us ASAP. Again, a couple months pass with ZERO communication. Finally, I decided to send my son down there to go pick up the truck (repairs complete or not) to get it out of the twilight zone and Rob told him he had returned it to the owner already. WHAT?! After thinking it had been stolen, I go back to see Rob in person with my wife and kids to see what the deal was and potentially file a police report. We showed up in my wife’s car, so he didn’t run and hide like he had done multiple times when he saw my truck or my son’s truck. When we confronted Rob he said, oh it is not stolen, it has just been at Car Toys (for two months, according to Car Toys!) getting the stereo replaced. He made a call to Car Toys to "pay" for the stereo while my wife also called Car Toys to make sure our truck was really there. Car Toys told my wife that the truck is there, and they did install a stereo. However, they had to remove it due to lack of payment and communication with Rob. Car Toys was nice enough to store our truck inside their shop for the first two weeks as they called Rob multiple times telling him the truck had to picked up and to please pay the bill. He always told them he would be right there to pick it up. Finally, the manager threatened to charge him storage fees. After Rob did not come by or pay the bill, Car Toys was forced to remove the stereo and park the truck outside. They had tried to reach him several times but again, he is terrible at communicating and can never be reached or will “call you tomorrow”. Now I just wanted to pick up my truck and never see this guy again. I asked Rob if he would write me a check for the stereo and work Car Toys was doing (he was trying to pay over the phone, and they would not accept his credit card) and he said no. What a piece. We have spent a lot of time and money there, because you physically need to go there to get any type of information. The whole time we were thinking this cannot be real. No one could avoid phone call and emails and continually make excuses like this guy! He does not take accountability for his actions and has never even apologized for taking so long, having the plates stolen, the window bashed in, or the stereo stolen and never replaced. I have wanted to write a Yelp review after basically every phone call with Rob, however, I know it can harm a business and I am a VERY understanding person when it comes to delays and poor communication. After meeting with him today, I cannot let anyone else get ripped off by this guy. NEVER ever take your vehicle there.
