Guardian Management LLC. runs ********************************** in ************, **. My mother applied for an apartment there. We went in on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 to give them paperwork, as residents cannot make over a set amount of money. The manager looked over my mom's finances and said there was no problem, that she was $3000 under the threshold. She reassured my mom that she wouldn't have any problem. They gave us no checklist or official paperwork detailing what they needed for paperwork, and we were led to believe that they had everything they needed and it all looked good.On Thursday, November 3rd the manager called and told my mother mother that she had been denied because she had too much income and that she could not move in. At this point my mother had already cancelled the lease to her current residence, cancelled all utilities, packed up, and made arrangements with movers. So now my 80 year old mother had where to live.When I called the manager, she was unapologetic. She said that according to them my mother made $49,000, which is $13,000 over the threshold. How do you go from saying she is $3000 under to $13,000 over? The manager said we tell all of our clients that nothing is final until final verification is done. That is a lie. That was never said at our meeting on 10/19. Instead she reassured my mother that she would be accepted. Incompetence is one thing, incompetence that leaves an 80 year old woman with no where to live is un acceptable.
