Complaint: A friend of mine was in need of a place to stay for a week until he could get into permanent housing. I dropped my friend off at the West Winds hotel on a Sunday and paid for his room for a week sometime during the night he passed away and his body was found the next morning. The owner of the west winds hotel was the one that contacted me about his death and yelled at me on the phone telling me that my friend was dead before the detectives had a chance to come to my house and tell me what had happened. A week later I called the West Winds hotel asking when I could expect a reimbursement for the time that he had not stayed there and I was told that her lawyer would contact me. On that Sunday before I checked him in, I asked the owner if there was a chance that he can get into his permanent housing sooner than a week if I would be reimbursed for the time that he did not stay there, she assured me that I would now she will not reimburse me due to the fact that he died in one of her hotel rooms and I now need to deal with her lawyer in order to get it back. How heartless can a person be?
Desired Settlement: Reimbursement for the nights that my friend did not use the hotel room like she promised she would.
