Complaint Category: Improper or inferior repair
Complaint: I purchased a heat pump/air-conditioner from Sears. It quit working the first day and 13 times since. Sears requires use of their sole subcontractor, Furnace Doctors, to "repair" the unit. Furnace Doctors has been to my home 6 times to repair the unit and it still doesn't work. Additionally, it takes approximately a month for a Furnace Doctors appointment. In the latest incident, Furnace Doctors 'fixed' the unit in April 2013 and it quit working by July. Furnace Doctors is not "available" to fix the unit until Aug 29, the end of the summer and therefore not a great need for AC, nor a suitable time to determine if the unit was even temporarily fixed. This is an ongoing problem with Furnace Doctors.
