Complaint
Payed **** ****** to do a remodel job and he sub contracted it out to ***** ****** who is working under ***** license number and he had his truck.
The job was only half done and the renovation has one wall exposed to the elements and the location is unable to be locked due to door not closing.
When questioned **** proceeded to say there is nothing he can do because He gave the job to *****.
Bait and switch is what they did.

Desired Settlement
Have the rest of the work completed or give the money back to us to have a reportable contractor finish the job.

Business Response
We meet Ms. ******* through a friend at **** ***** that does Door Installation. She asked us to give her a bid for a remodel including jacking up her house in which we drew up a proposal totaling about $65,000.00. She immediately wanted to change things, so we would need to write a new bid that would become a contract with the specifications she was looking for. We also discovered that there was 12 inches of standing water under her house and flowing in and out from under the house in which was an emergency repair, and we informed her that we do need to address this problem before we were able to jack up the house and perform the remodel. The cost to fix the drainage issue was over $10,000.00. Though this process Ms. ******* changed her mind several times and didn't want to write up a contract at any time and wanted us to move forward without a contract and informed us that the cost of fixing the issue with the water retaining under her house would have to come off the cost of her remodel in which she was changing on a daily bases. After completing the issue of the retaining water it was clear that Ms. ******* does have manic mood changing issues in which I discovered from ******* (her daughter) that she does have a mental illness in which I would not be able to form a contract with her anyway. I introduced a man named ***** ****** to Ms. ******* which was a reference of one of my associates and released any interest of a potential contract with Ms. *******, and they worked out a deal between themselves in which I had no part in any way. She did pay ***** ****** directly they handle any and all changes. At the end of July they reached out to and told me that they had paid ***** ****** around $23,000.00 and they felt that he was taking them for a ride and he was not providing the service that they paid for. I went and meet with them and looked over what paper work they had the payout records and the work that was done. I told them I will draw up the correct paper work in this process they informed me that they wanted me to provide the service with the $23,000.00 that they had paid ***** ******* They also threatened me with legal action and personal harm. The daughter told me "I (*******) know the ******** and I know where you live", the ******** are a motorcycle club. I contacted my attorney and he advised me not to form any contract with them or do any work as they were not going to sign a contract but wanted me to work without one.

Consumer Response
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
***** was working under **** ******* business license with his truck.
**** was responsible for the renovation and did not follow thru to make sure his guys finish the job.
**** is also lying about changing things
***** left me without a way to lock my door for almost 2 months which is dangerous for an elderly woman.
We have large holes in our yard and on our deck that are also dangerous.
They did not finish anything!I have a new contractor looking at the unfinished items and taking pictures for a law suit we will have to file.
They way **** and ***** have left my home is a danger to my entire family which includes live wires sticking out of the wall in my laundry room.

Final Business Response
Dear Better Business Bureau and the ******* Family
I'm Sorry but those are just not the facts and I have no ill will toward you and your family at all. I did attempt to offer my help, but with the threats my attorney advised me to not put myself at risk. Ms. ******* and her daughter refused to sign a contract and the proper documents. The facts are:
1. That truck is not my truck it is owned by a man named ******** ******** and between those two (***** ******* they had or have a buyer and seller agreement, which is none of my business.
2. All dealings outside of the drain field were done directly with ***** ******* I myself or my company was not retained, paid, contracted and or even contacted by either parties involved until three months later. When Ms. ******* called me and told me she was not happy with *****. I attempted to communicate with both of them but the ******* family was hostel toward me in which I told them for me to help them they could not behave as they were acting, that is when the threats began and they refused to sign any contract or notice to consumer documents.
Thanks,
**** ******

Final Consumer Response
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The facts that we have are correct and ** ****** is a twisting the truth in order to make him seem like he did the job.
The fact is that ** ****** did not even finish the drain field or hard wire the sump pump they put in. ** ****** also left a huge pile of dirt and large holes in our yard, he also left the large trash box in our yard and had no one pick it up!
We had to call and have it hauled away. ** ****** laughed in my face when we asked him to finish the job and told me i was screwed.
** ****** did not do the work he promised us.
** ****** is not a trustworthy business man.
We have a new contractor who has taken pictures of all things that were wrong with drain field and other repairs as nothing was done correctly. We will now be taking further action in this case just like the people who are already in a lawsuit with him now.
The BBB better think twice before they put good ratings for *** ******* company as he has done this same type of thing to many people in the Tacoma, Federal way area.
I give ** ****** a F rating as he is not trustworthy and just does Bad Work.
