    To Whom it May ******** I am writing with regard to: Lynden Veterinary Hospital / ************** **** Front Street Lynden, **. ***** I visited the clinic on 12/1/23. The purpose of the visit was to secure two health certificates for travel for two puppies. One puppy was over 16 weeks of age and required a rabies vaccine. Per current USDA regulation, statements of acclimation are only used when an airline cannot guarantee compliance with existing requirements as stated in the federal Animal Welfare Act, Part 3 Subpart A - Specifications of the Humane **************, Treatment, and Transportation of Dogs and Cats (9 CFR 3.13[e]) and, specifically the minimum temperature allowed by the regulations. My puppies were scheduled to fly with ****** the next day and they guarantee compliance. I am further a USDA license holder and would never jeopardize my licensure and break the law. The veterinarian issued health certificates with unnecessary acclimation statements that were so high that the documents were unusable. It was 41 degrees in WA state and the acclimation was set at 50 degrees. In the 20+ years I have been transporting animals, I have never seen an acclimation statement so high. When I pointed out that the dogs would not even have been able to be checked in for their flights and that the documents were useless the vet did not care. I then showed his staff example health certificates from other shipments where statements were below 40 they did not care. When I pointed out the acclimation statement was not even necessary they did not care. I checked the temperatures for the following ten days and at no time would the temperatures be high enough for these ************** let alone be checked in.The vet then demanded payment for the useless documents. This vet is *******************. ************** obviously dislikes USDA licensed dog breeders. He deliberately interfered with my sales and attempted to sell me unusable health certificates for travel which is highly unethical. He then attempted to charge me which is basically theft. ************** is in desperate need of professional development on USDA and aviation regulation as it pertains to the safe transport of animals and I am therefore reporting him to you. Had I been an ill knowledge consumer, I would have paid for these useless documents and been the victim of Dr. ****** exploitative practices. Because of Dr. ****** actions, I was unable to ship my puppies. The value of which is $9000. ************** has now also turned me over to collections (in five days) because I refused to pay for the bad health certificates. A total of $160. He also defamed me and my business and he has been writing bad reviews online --very embarrassing behavior for a licensed veterinarian. I will be holding him liable for all damages and interference with my business expectancy. I hope you will review this matter carefully because as I stated above had it not been for my knowledge as a USDA breeder I would have fallen victim to ************** and paid for the unuseable documentation.     We have been going to ************** for 16 years. I don't think that there is any vet better than him. He has taken care of all our dogs and cats .He is kind and clearly loves animals. The staff there is wonderful. He has literally saved a couple of their lives. He will always be the only vet we go to!!!
