Complaint: they repaired my roof on 03/30/2012.while repairing the man knocked off vent cap to gas hot water heater,he put it back on, it fell off during the night.i called the next day,the man said they would come out and measure for a new one and give me a price.they never came back or called.the cap was 20 years old,so probaly needed to replace. i just wont to know why they wont come back or call. i will get someone else to do it.next year i will get someone else for my new roof

Desired Settlement: want to know why they never came back

Business Response: Replacing the cap on the chimney is masonry work and we don't do that type of work.  Have already called and explained to Mr. ******

Consumer Response: it is not the chimney, it is the vent pipe they knocked the cap off of it i saw when he did it .  the chimney is new.they know this.  it is vent pipeto hot water heater which they do replace   ***** *****

Business Response: Mr. ***** called and stated he is going to call the consumer and set a time to come and replace the pipe.

Consumer Response: he called me and said he would come out to measure the pipe,but at 85.00 dollar charge,then go get part and charge for it,and then come back again at 85.00 dollars again for something they broke the first time. he should put in writting to you total cost to me for their breaking to start with    ***** *****

Business Response: Mr. ***** states his man (not his son) states the part was on the ground.  They did not break or damage the part.  Mr. ***** states the service call would be a one time fee of $85.00 and the cost of the part.  Mr. ***** will call the consumer when he prices the part and let him know the cost before purchasing.  If consumer agrees to paying for the part Mr. ***** will purchase and replace at the consumers cost.

Consumer Response: i sat in my back yard and watched the man knock the part off.    it was not on the ground.   i wont let someone that lies  fix it for free.  i dont wont them on my property  again  ***** *****

Consumer Response:   Better Business Bureau: I have would not like my complaint ID*******, to be handled through and Arbitration Hearing.   Regards, ***** *****

BBB's Final Determination: After reviewing the position of all parties, BBB determined that the business made a reasonable effort to address the complaint. However the consumer remains dissatisfied.
