Additional Notes

Complaint: Baker roofing replaced my roof almost two months ago, after two complains and promise that they would have someone come out and fix my roof no one has showed up. My roof wasn't nailed down properly and is lifting in some spots, I would not recommend that anyone use this company to do their roofing job.

Desired Settlement: I would like to have someone from the company come out and fix my roof

Business Response: The proposal for this work was accepted/signed on 12/28/2012.  The work included "insurance-related" replacement of the homeowner's shingle roof system which had been damaged in a recent hail/wind storm.  The proposed new roof system was a "3-Tab" shingle roof system- matching that which was damaged.  New roofing materials were stocked 1/9/2013 , installed 1/10/2013, and customer was invoiced on 1/11/2013. The homeowner called our office and left message on 2/12/2013 expressing concern that the shingles were "loose".  Our Salesman called the Homeowner 2/13/2013, listened to the concerns, and shared the following: New shingle roofs require a couple of days of "sunny/warmer" weather in order to heat the sealants beneath the shingles and completely seal the shingles together The "loose" shingles that the owner was seeing were the individual "tabs" associated with a 3-Tab shingle system that were raising up with the winds-  a result of the roof system being installed during the winter months & the shingles not yet having heated up enough for the sealants to activate yet. Though the conditions observed by the Homeowner are considered "typical" of roof systems installed during colder temperatures, the Salesman offered to send a crew out to apply sealant between the specific shingles or areas of concern.  This was offered to address the owner's concerns until warmer weather occurred The crew was unable to mobilize to the site on 2/14/2013 & for several days following the Salesman's conversation with the homeowner due to bad weather & high-wind conditions Our crew mobilized and completed sealing of various areas of loose shingles observed on 2/25/2013

Consumer Response: Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID *******, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. No one came out on the 2/25/13 as stated Regards,***** *****

Business Response: The Repairs had in-fact been completed on 2/28/12.  Our Residential Department Manager met the homeowner on  Tuesday 3/5/12 to explain what work had been performed the prior week.  The homeowner was acceptant of the explanation of additional work performed.  Our Manager also further detailed that the roof system installed was under complete Labor & Material warranty for 2 years following installation and that any additional concerns would be addressed at their request.

Consumer Response: Today a person from Baker Roofing came by and we now have the roof fixed Thank you,          *****

BBB's Final Determination: Consumer accepted resolution offered by the business.
