Read Complaint Details
Complaint: We contracted with Law's Paving on 4/28/2013 to lay down a 10" base of stone followed by the blacktopping of our residential driveway. The first stage of laying down the base was completed the week of May 13th with an additional trip on May 28th to fill in depressions. This portion of the job was paid by us on the day it was completed. We were advised the blacktop portion of the job should be scheduled in early spring 2014. Our first attempt to schedule was made in Feb 2014, and attempts continued until this day, 21st of June 2014. Numerous phone calls in 2014 for the driveway to be scheduled to be completed have gone unanswered. It is beyond unprofessional to receive not one return call addressing this problem, nor is it reasonable to ask a customer to wait all this time for this company to return a call and fulfill its contract. We originally dealt with owner Ricky Law, and have waited for, at minimum , an explanation on the non-performance.
Desired Settlement: That others who may wish to have their paving needs met in a timely manner, if at all, not have to go through the aggravation of contracting with Law's Paving [Mr Ricky Law] who NEVER returns calls, nor completes the job which has been promised.
Business Response: Mr. Law has contacted the customer to discuss the project.
Consumer Response: 01 August 2014 Better Business Bureau: In reference to complaint ID ******** - after a series of phone calls, today Mr Law has indicated he will perform the remainder of the contracted paving the week of Aug 11th. Until that work is completed I would not say the issue has been resolved, however, if the work is performed as promised, I will consider this complaint resolved. Regards, ***** ******

For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Because of the rain the job was delayed. We understand you will call us on Sunday, August 17 to schedule the work for next week. Business Response: Our company phoned the customer Sunday, August 17, and the work is scheduled to be done this week.
Consumer Response: Better Business Bureau: I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that when the paving is completed the issue will be resolved. However as of this date [20 Aug 2014] due to the contractor's scheduling and rain delays, we are still awaiting the completion of the work . Mr. Law has phoned us since the complaint was filed, and made follow up calls. According to Mr Law, the projected date for completion has been scheduled during the week of August 25th. Consumer Response: Better Business Bureau: In reference to complaint ID ******** - Mr Law completed the paving job today, [Aug 26, 2014] and did an excellent job. At this point I would recommend him to others, with the hope that he would return those customers' calls promptly. Once on site, he was both professional and experienced, and, at this point, we feel satisfied with the job's completion. I consider this complaint resolved. Regards, ***** ******
