            8/18/22 there is a pending transaction from Voices.com in the total amount of $499.00. I have been trying to reach customer service because I have been trying to cancel my subscription and close my account for a couple week to no avail. On the website they supposedly give you an option to request to close your account but when you click cancel my account. A pop up shows up saying that one of their team members would soon get in contact with me within two days. I never received contact and not even a voice message. I wake up this morning with an alert from my bank of a large transaction and find out that voices.com still processed that amount to which I never wanted to happen in the first place. I have been calling them since last month and I have been trying to reach them and it always says that there is no one available right now..I want my refund and I want them to close my account. They should make this option easier for customers.

            Customer loyalty to this site meant nothing. Premium membership since 2016. Pay them top dollar just to have the privilege of viewing "available" jobs. Work hard on auditions only to see them go into "deciding" or "completed" mode so quickly that it looks like they already had someone lined up for the project--maybe internally within their company--and posted it as a formality. Brokerage fees were added to every quote before you were even shortlisted or awarded the job. SO....hundreds of dollars for yearly membership. We will then charge you brokerage fees so you never get what you quoted to the client until Voices gets their cut from you! They are charging clients to post the jobs, charging struggling voice actors to "look at and apply" for jobs--surrounded by volumes of competition. And at the end of the day when you ask for 50% off the $499 outrageous membership fee, you are turned down. Let's just let this loyal customer go--no damage control, not working with them to make it affordable, nope. Just proof that the bottom line is way more important to them than the customer. Thanks for killing the dreams of educated voiceover talent. Very disappointed. Shame on you, Voices.

            Hi Ann, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We’re sorry to hear that this is your assessment of Voices. As you know, our premium membership, which does come with a cost, provides daily job opportunities that match a talent’s profile and skill set, sent to them directly. As a business, we do charge a 20% platform fee to talent (calculated against their client-facing quote) and a 4% or 6% processing fee to clients depending on the client’s payment method (calculated against their job’s total cost pre-tax). Talent are able to adjust their quote when responding to jobs to see what their take-home earnings would be if hired for that job, and we show right there, based on the talent quote, the amount that the client will pay. We also show in this same spot what the platform fee would amount to, so that the talent has all the information. Our goal is to connect clients with the best talent, and talent with the best job opportunities to make any fees worthwhile. We do have many talent members making a successful full-time living on Voices. The premium membership fee also ensures that the premium talent on Voices are at the professional skill level required to meet the needs of clients, which helps to ensure jobs are hired and to ensure that clients continue to come back to Voices to post more jobs. All this being said, we continue to look at pricing and the ways we can improve this element of the customer experience. It’s true that sometimes clients do not listen to all the auditions that have been submitted for a job, particularly if a job has a very short turnaround time and they find the talent they’re looking for quickly. We know it can be discouraging when this happens. We encourage talent to recognize this as part of the overall auditioning process and to audition as often and as quickly as possible for opportunities. The guest membership does allow clients to privately invite you to jobs, but you’re correct that this is a more challenging way to book work on Voices. For both the premium and the guest membership, ensuring that your profile and your demos are fully filled out and tagged properly maximizes the possibility of being invited to a job. Our team is here to support you and to provide any assistance.
