My stepson hit a deer on 127 just south of Ithaca. When he hit the deer he went off the road. My wife went to pick him up and central dispatch called Gratiot Towing. Gratiot towing told my wife after they got the car out it was going to cost $600 or they could just pay $100 and sign over the title to the car. My wife called we wanting to know what to do. I then spoke to the Gratiot Towing and I was told it was $150 for the winch out $300 because it was an accident. I told them there was no way we were signing over the title on a $6,000 car. After it was all said and done the **** was $463, $85 for the winch, $78 to haul it 13 miles and $300 for the accident fee. I called them when their office opened asking about the $300 accident fee and they told me it was an accident and they charge that to show up to one. The person that I talked to was very rude and didn't really want to explain the $300 fee other than they charge that just to show up. After it is all said and done I recommend that no one use GRATIOT TOWING as they are scammers.
