Complaint Oil Leak under hook breaks still squeak waiting on Remote for car and for it to be programed rubber seal around trunk bad On March 20th, 2014 we bought a 2005 Hyundai XG350 from sunshine Auto Brokers. Spoke and Dealt with a General Manager named ***** ********* whomed seemed very nice and honest. Told my son in law and myself if there was anything wrong with the car in less than a month well time frame was never given. but anything wrong with car they would take care of us that they weren\'t there to make money off of someone and rip them off either. We said great good to know.. So after having it within the first week we noticed an oil smell to it like it was burning. So my son in law called them several times to try and make everything in one trip. Also they said they would rather us bring it all at one time then back and forth to them. However we told them the issue of the oil leak smell of burning and the breaks squeaking and inquired about the rubber seal for the trunk and the remote for keyless entry. Stated that rubber seal was on back order with some company, and didn\'t know about the remote either for it. Also took the car down on 4/1/14 they had us see the mechanic **** and showed him the problems we were having and stated that he would take care of it.
Spoke with ***** ********* today 4/9/14 to find out when we can bring the care down for the issues and he stated that he wouldn\'t be fixing anything but the rubber seal for around the trunk since it leaks and a keyless remote for the car. Nor the Squeaking breaks Reminded him of his verbal agreement and again he said no and said they if he fixed our car or had to take the motor apart for any other customer then he wouldn\'t be in business. We said ok that fine. Still very upset with the whole issue of laying out good money $8200.00 for the car and still not doing anything for us...
Desired Settlement We just want the issues fixed the oil leak, the rubber seal for around the truck and to make sure its not leaking, the keyless entry remote for the car and programed, and the breaks squeaking
Business Response This response was provided verbally to BBB:
If there is anything wrong with the car we can always fix it at our cost. This doesn't mean we will fix it for free, it means we will give it to our customer at the price the dealership would pay for repairs, not retail.
We did speak with the customers son about coming in to have an oil change done and check for the leak but he never brought the vehicle in. Instead they filed the BBB complaint. We were willing to look at the problems with the vehicle to see if it was something we could repair at the dealership. If we had to send it out to another shop we would allow the customer to pay our cost for the repairs.
If the customer still wants assistance with the vehicle they can bring it in to us as previously discussed and we will try to help them but we cannot promise to make all repairs for free without knowing what the problems are.
Consumer Response This response was provided verbally to BBB:
This is not what the company told us when we bought the car. They said as long as it wasn't months later they would take care of any issues. We contacted them right away about the issues and they said they had to get the rubber gasket and they would take care of all issues at the same time. It took them weeks to get the rubber gasket and when it came in they said they would only take care of that issue and nothing else. We had issues with the brakes scraping together and took it to another mechanic who said there was less than 50% left to the brakes. There are many other issues as well and we complained about all of them and they told us not to worry about it. We didn't have it inspected by a mechanic before purchase because the salesman said they would take care of all the issues before the final purchase.
