Additional Complaint Information

BBB files indicate that Prestige Travel Systems, Inc. ("Prestige Travel") has a pattern of complaints regarding delays and issues redeeming travel vouchers and customer service issues. Complaints further state that the third party businesses that either marketed or conducted the sales presentation misrepresented the terms and conditions of the travel certificate. Consumers have stated that they only find out about additional fees and terms after the validation forms are filled out and sent to Prestige Travel. Prestige Travel has advised BBB that this is the first time the business has any contact with consumers.

In December 2012, BBB contacted Prestige Travel, requesting information as to why the business believes the customers are filing the complaints, and what actions the business has taken to help eliminate the causes of complaints. The business responded to BBB regarding these complaints at that time and as recent as March 2014.

Prestige Travel does not believe it has a pattern of complaints. All terms and conditions are clearly explained on the incentive certificates. The business also provides a website for certificate holders which explains each program, as well as a customer service phone number and email address for customers to contact the business should they have any questions.

The business has stated that its first contact with the travel certificate holder is when the holder submits the validation form. The holder initially received the travel certificate in response to marketing or sales presentations conducted by other businesses that have purchased the certificates from Prestige Travel. Prestige Travel maintains that it has no involvement with marketing or sales practices used by these third party businesses. All of the third party businesses are provided guidelines to follow, including that they may not represent that the certificate is free. Prestige Travel has stated more people file complaints with BBB because the third party businesses' misrepresentation or the certificate holders' misunderstanding of the program.

In October 2013, Prestige Travel indicated that it terminated the airline ticket promotion program that was the source for a majority of the BBB complaints, selling the program to another business. Prestige Travel has indicated it will continue to provide travel services for all travelers processed prior to that time, and has estimated that these services will end by October 2014.
