My condo complex contracted with RJ ***** to replace our roof. On 5/4/2022 the company started the process of unloading pallets of roofing shingles, tools, etc from the cranes to the roof. My a/c exterior unit sits on the roof. That day my a/c unit broke. It was only 6 years old. I have yr service on both the roof and interior portions. My system was in good working condition with no issues prior to the roofers being up there. I had the a/c co out to repair. I was told my bundled cables up on the roof were disturbed and pulled apart causing a short & blew the transformer. The total cost was $474. The ac person told me the flat roof area where my ac unit sits was a staging site for the roofing company. He said there was roofing materials, personal items, and employees sitting and walking through the area. He said it appeared that the cables were kicked, stepped on, or caught by something heavy and pulled apart. They actually put that detail on my receipt. My condo company forwarded to RJ ***** in May. On 6/24/2022 (7 weeks later) I received a check for $110. I contacted them to find out why I was only reimbursed $110. I was told that was reimbursement for the wire repair only. I stated my case that the ruined wires caused all the remaining damage. My ac was in perfect working order the day they started the roof repair. I deserve to have my system in the same working order after the damage. I should not have to pay any portion of the damage. I was told someone from the company would call me back to discuss. I attempted multiple times to speak to someone who could listen to my side of the story and make decisions for the company. I never once had anyone call me back. The last time I called was 6/28. Once again I was told that someone would call me back & once again no one ever did. There is simply NO reason I should have to pay any portion of that damage. There is also NO reason the company should not have to speak to me about it. It cost $474 to repair my a/c not $110
