took car in to get service, gave me loaner, now saying chip of paint off car, asking for $169 and told me 3 days to get back to me,states I destroyed car
I have been taking my car there since I bought in 11/08, 4/1/15 took in to get headlamp replaced and vehicle checked, gave me loaner like before, now states wants $169 for paint chip and will not get back to me for 3 days, which then gives them 3 additional days to trump up charges, they are holding my c/c hostage. I do not know if that pain chip was gone at the time the car was given ,I did not examin. They would not let me out of dealership until I agreed to pay for the pain chip. Never in the 6 1/2 years have I ever destroyed their vehicles or got in trouble for a pain chip, per their contract they can keep the car off the road as long as they feel and charge me for loss of use. FOR A PAIN CHIP no large that 1/4 of an inch.
They told me to go back to my job, and get the tapes of the people parking next to me and sue them.
Who know when this happened. I only drove the car 20 miles total, and they kept my car overnight and had no way to get to work. I work for the federal government. This is BULL.
get used to pain chips on car, this is Florida and there are lots of people in Pinellas County, and with all the road construction who knows where and where the pain chip came off. If they want pristene cars, never lend out. This is not like I had an accident.
I spoke to Ms ****** yesterday afternoon, apologized and explained that we lend vehicles to guest in good faith and ask they are returned in the same condition. I explained that I understood she did not cause the damage but it did occur in her care, I also explained she was a good client and the $169. was not worth the loss for us. She then proceeded to tell me her insurance company was going to pay for the damage and she would not return here again. She did not want me to waive the charges. I have tried to resolve this concern, ***** ********* Service Director Ferman BMW & Mini of Palm Harbor
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
he NEVER mentioned EVER mentioned waiving any charges. Now I do not trust them at all, and this just cements my decision to never ever return, They do not need to worry they will get their $169 from my insurance company. He spoke about ****** coming to him and losing my business, nothing else, If This person named " ***** *********** feels he needs to waive the $169 charge, let him do so, maybe his conscience will be clear.
Final Business Response
From ***** ********** I did speak to the guest and I did offer to waive the cost of damage to our loaner vehicle, in effort to salvage the relationship. Ms. ****** promptly declined my offer, stating that there was no relationship to salvage and that her insurance company was handling it. As far as we are concerned this case is closed and there will be no further action. Thank you ***** ********** Service Director
