In June of 2021 I called Nomad moving based on a referral from a friend at work. The owner ( Gordon) quoted me 3.5-4.5 hours at $99/ hour to move our furniture , my tool chest any various boxes from our house into a storage unit 5 miles away. On the day of the move ( July 31, 2021 , 2 guys arrived at 8 am with a 26 foot truck . I provided them with blankets and was told they would at least shrink wrap all the furniture. They were very slow and by 12:30 the truck was not loaded yet. I gave them lots of drinks and bought lunch to try to save time. Around 1:30 they told me they have to make 2 trips and headed to the storage unit. I met them there and at that time the driver of the truck told me he can't make the turn around the building. I have driven long trucks before so I guided him and there was no problem . I left for a while then came back to find them with another truck switching over all their carts and blankets. They still were not done and said they need to switch trucks because the lift gate was broken and they needed it for my tool box. By this time it's 4 o'clock and they are tired , thirsty and need to make 1 more trip. On the second trip the driver refused to go around the building so they spent an extra hour unloading the truck from the parking lot. By the time we got back to my house it was 6:00 pm. Not only did they charge me for all of the time since 8 am (12 hours labor ) but little did I know they ruined almost all of our furniture putting it in the storage unit that day. I had no way of seeing the damage until we took it all out on September 30 2021. Basically, they misquoted me and damaged most of our expensive wooden and leather furniture. Chunks out of the tables, dining room chairs, 3 headboards , coffee tables , sliced leather couch and leather chair and more. All I wanted was to pay the price I was I was quoted which is around $600. I paid $1200 and they did about $10000 damage. Owner insists they did nothing wrong
