Why am I stuck paying for shipping of replacement item after less than 3 months use? Either send me a new one or give me my money back.

I purchased Melitta XXXXX on ********** on May 11. I started using the product on May 30. The grinder failed on or around July 15. I filed a warranty claim and was told that I needed to pay $7.99 for shipping of the new grinder. This can't be for real. I paid $30 for this grinder and I barely got 45 days of use. Now I have to pay another $8 for another one that may or may not survive another 45 days? That is utterly ridiculous. The consumer ID I was given is XXXXXXX. Why am I on the hook for a grinder that can't function for more than 45 days? Is this an expected life expectancy of your product? Would you mind letting me know, so that I can post this on reviews?

Desired Settlement
I want this replacement to be sent to me either for free or my money to be refunded. I am not going to pay almost 25% of the product's price for shipping of another grinder that may or may not survive for 3 more months.
