Truck **** F150 2010 was brought in to Affordable Auto Performance for my son by his brother to replace the ************** While the truck was on their property the tailgate was stolen. The truck was dropped off 4/11/2022 and a check was given to them of $1,000.00 towards payment of the repair 4/11/21. We went to pick up the truck at the end of June and his wife told us the owner *** wasn't happy with the steering yet. We asked also about the tailgate and were told it was down the block getting painted. We informed her we were leaving town and expected the truck to be done so that we could move our boat. She said they could move it for us. I told her I would get back to her on moving the boat. We left town came back in August to pick up ******* truck and they informed us they had impounded it. They towed the truck from our home address to fix and I had left messages what was happening with the truck several times leaving my phone number. They claimed they couldn't get in touch with us? I didn't receive a call no register letter?I was forced to have the bank issue a certified check for the balance to get the truck back for my son and not be able to drive it because it was in a different lot blocked in by two other vehicles.They were told ****** had an appointment at ***** Transplant and we were not going to wait for there schedule to move the vehicles blocking it. We came home from ***** and the Truck had once again been towed back to our driveway. That night we flew back to ******** and didn't drive the truck. We got back once again in town in January with ****** and ***** Transplant called they had a donor he could receive a kidney and pancreas. We stayed in ***** till ****** was stable. Upon driving the truck the steering still had issues.After our experience with Affordable Performance we still needed to get a power steering pump replaced and we took it to ***************************. They said steering gear appears to be new but found the fluid has metal flakes and steering gear should be replaced under warranty from the other shop. Affordable Performance claimed they lubricated something and the truck was ready to be picked up. We informed them and left copy saying the other shops finding on the truck steering lubricated still not right. They refused to warranty parts or labor on the truck to make things right. His wife also was suppose to mail me copy of the first page of the original invoice on her computer which he claimed she couldn't do because of their shop being damaged by the hurricane. She had pulled up the invoice on her computer answered a phone call and I snapped a pic of the computer screen with my phone it listed what was completed on the truck steering being one of them.
