My husband and I bought our house in April of 2019. At the time, we noticed that there had previously been work done on the foundation of the house, visible in the basement. The selling realtor provided warranty information on the work, which was done by Apex Waterproofing in 2009. This year, my husband started noticing cracks in the walls along where the work was done. When we tried to contact Apex Waterproofing we could not get a response. We called, emailed, and even drove to the business location which turned out to be an empty field. Apex appears to still be in business, so the radio silence is surprising and frustrating. We contacted the company that manufactured the solution, ******************************, who informed us that it appeared (from pictures that we sent them) that the system was installed incorrectly. Per ********: "The ******** lifetime warranty you have, covers the carbon fiber wall strap integrity. The installation company is responsible for proper installation of the ******** material. Proper installation and service guarantee is provided by the installer. I have reached out to Apex, but was only able to leave a voicemail. In your case the protective sheet was not removed from the back of the carbon fiber grid strap prior to installation and no fault of the ******** material. Please contact your installation company for remedy."We are currently getting estimates to fix the damage, and they are in excess of $60k. Our insurance is not covering the issue. Because ******** says their product was not installed correctly, we have no confidence in Apex Waterproofing's work and would prefer to use a different company. However, it seems that because there was a warranty on the work, Apex Waterproofing should be financially responsible somehow.
