Additional Complaint Information
The Travel Center has responded to complaints presented to it by the Better Business Bureau by referring to limitations of liability, explaining its policy, and referring to other companies involvement in the transaction. The Travel Center has sometimes provided refunds of the fee paid to it, but denies that fees for actual travel arrangements are received by it, as the certificate company. The Better Business Bureau is raising its concerns about the overall pattern of issues in complaints concerning misleading sales practices and complicated arrangements to the company.
Consumers report purchasing vacation/travel arrangements through presentations at group meetings or through faxed offers and encountering problems trying to make actual travel arrangements using the certificates. When questions are raised about difficulties using the purchased arrangements, customers are advised that the paperwork included disclaimers indicating that the certificate seller had no responsibility for actual arrangements, changes in fees, or other problems encountered. Consumers were advised to then contact the other company involved about the overall transaction. Some of the companies referenced by consumers have separate BBB Business Reviews; please check Grand Incentives ( http://www.bbb.org/west-florida/business-reviews/incentive-programs/grand-incentives-in-sarasota-fl-90017298 ) and Omaha Travel (http://www.bbb.org/nebraska/business-reviews/corporate-travel/omaha-travel-in-omaha-ne-300076858 ).
