We contracted Michael **** Builders to construct:1. External addition (all purpose room with full bathroom, heat/air, loft, and a patio with gas fireplace);2. Internal Kitchen remodeling.We paid our first deposit check on December 30, 2020. Work for the external addition commenced on November 5, 2021 (almost a year later). We have since paid a total of $289,700 (including high-end kitchen appliances). But, to-date, only the external addition is being worked on - it is not yet completed. It has taken numerous efforts and escalation to get them to focus on our project. They had given us multiple schedules and completion dates, and to-date have not held to any of these dates. We even had ******************************* (CEO) visit our property and he promised that the external project would be completed by August/September timeframe. We have had status check calls with Mr. ***** himself, but they have been unable to hold to their dates. They have been unable to deliver on their contract. We held our end of the contract and paid as required by the milestone driven contract. These milestones were front-loaded (payments were required on start, and not finish).During the project, they brought in numerous contractors, who were expecting us to provide guidance/direction, when in fact, we were repeatedly told that all workers will be Michael **** employees and they would manage the project from start to finish. These contractors would just leave halfway through unfinished, as they had other 'priority' projects. Some would complain that they were not paid.We've been extremely patient, working directly with ***** (CEO). But he has not been returning our calls lately. Our house has been a construction zone through the entire Thanksgiving and Holiday season in 2022. We have been through a lot of pain, agony, anger and frustration over the last two years since we embarked on this project. We are hoping to get some attention from Michael **** to commit and complete our project.
