    Preferred Warranties offers pre-owned vehicle service contracts through qualified dealers. There are several levels of coverage available in terms ranging from 3-36 months. All plans include 24/7 emergency road service for the terms of the service contract. 

    A service contract is a promise to perform (or pay for) certain repairs or services. Sometimes called an "extended warranty," a service contract is not a warranty as defined by federal law. A service contract may be arranged at any time and always costs extra; a warranty comes with a new car and is included in the original price.

    The separate and additional cost distinguishes a service contract from a warranty.

    I thought I purchased an extended warranty for my car I purchased in 2019. I am still paying for the warranty as the cost of this so called extended warranty was worked into my car payments, $60.00 more per Month over a 5 year period. Needless say, thats not the case. Although, I am still paying my premiums, I was told the warranty expired Mar 2022. I asked how can I be paying for insurance thats expired, the company told me thats how it works. I never heard of this and furthermore, I would not have purchased such a policy. I am still paying the $60.00 thats tacked onto my car payment and no warranty for the repairs but Im still paying the premium. There ought to be a law against scamming innocent customers. Its absurd that I cannot purchase a car in the Untied States without getting scammed by the man on some level. The only reason I opted to buy into this scam policy was I saw the Better Business Bureau had endorsed this and I thought it was legitimate. I was wrong. Also, Id like to add that the policy phamplet states all repairs must be done at a dealership so when my check engine light came on I took my car to the ********** dealership, had the diagnostic done and thought whatever the problem was, it would be covered but thats when I was told the insurance had expired. This seems to be a scam that the dealers are in on as well. Idk that for sure. All I know is I am paying for an insurance policy thats expired and this definitely should be against the law. Please help!

    If I could give 0 stars I would. This "warranty company" is a scam. Our truck has been in the shop for 8 weeks with engine issues. It has been towed to 2 different mechanics who have agreed on what the problem is but this company won't correct the actual issue. Instead they want us to put a bandaid on the problem and have the mechanic guarantee the work which neither shop will do because it's not going to fix the issue. If we go with their fix and drive the vehicle and it breaks, the warranty is null and void. Sounds like a scam to me.

We have a claims supervisor assigned to your claim. They will be reaching out to you shortly to help move the claim along and see what PWI is able to assist with.

    Update: They finally agreed to replace the engine and claimed they found one with equal or less mileage. Nope. The engine is a year older than our truck and had 70,000 more miles than what our current engine has. Thankfully our mechanic is looking out for us and gave us the heads up.
