We started working with Bachman Roofing in July 2021 to install solar shingles on our roof. Following approval by our home owner's association (HOA) on September 30, 2021, we expected to start roof installation. Bachman roofing was informed that our HOA required all external work to be done 180 days after approval (March 30, 2022). In November 2021, I asked why it was taking so long. They started to proceed at that time. In early December, they said the township rejected their application. They needed to remove 6 solar shingles in the back of the house. I agreed and noted as long as they do not remove the south facing shingles we are fine. South facing collects the most sun energy. They requested an electrical permit by our township Dec 27, 2021. This was good for 6 months before they would have to reapply for new one. The solar roof was installed end of April and the south side installed by the first week of March 2022. We were surprised they did not initially install the south facing shingles. They told us this was not approved by the township. I called the township and they said this was not true. This was the first red flag of Bachman lying that was transparent to us. With confirmation from the township, they added the south facing solar shingles to our home, but the electrical work did not begin. The electrician came to our home twice and spent hours there. We were then notified they needed more parts. By this time, the HOA end of March deadline passed. For a third time we confirmed the electrician coming to our home on April 18. This was confirmed; however, the electrician never showed up. We called Bachman to complain. Their 'general manager' called and said he did not know anything about solar but he is calling because he was asked. I requested they figure out how to get an electrician to complete the $100,000 project we are paying for. He said they will work on it. We have now scheduled a time for the electrician the 4rth time. We want our solar completed.

This company came in and provided me a quote for a new roof that was substantially higher than any previous company. And I have received quotes from about half a dozen total. I told their representative what type of shingles I wanted to use and what type of flashing I want to use and they quoted me different products that specifically cost more money. They claim that they are the best products in the industry and I told them that I’m not interested in using the best products in the industry at the highest costs. I told them that I was interested in using a midline product a 30 year shingle and not a 50 year shingle. Instead, they quoted me a 50 year shingle and they also quoted me copper flashing, which is the most expensive you could possibly install. Where I asked for aluminum flashing. I then sent feedback to the rep and asked for a new quote and instead
the manager of the company called me and told me they weren’t interested in doing business with me. These people are scam artists. They will take advantage of you and you’ll pay for it, but if you want the most expensive products out there and you want to get ripped off for them and you don’t mind that you’re paying two or three times the cost of anyone else in the industry then by all means, feel free to waste your money on this ridiculous company who shouldn’t even be allowed to be in business. What a waste of time they led me through. In my life I have never run into a company that doesn’t listen to what you ask them for and instead quotes what they decide you need.

In response to Mr. G*********’ review.
In his opinion we are a “ridiculous company who shouldn’t even be allowed to be in business”.
However, this did not stop him from contacting our company no less than four times, in the past five months. We have been to his home on several occasions and provided him with four proposals for services that range from installing a large tarp to his garage roof, rebuilding his garage roof, a new shingle roof, solar roofing, gutters & downspouts, and leaf relief.
Our company has built its reputation, over the past fifty years, on the fact that we use the best products in conjunction with the best application, of these products, in the industry and we stand by those products, with what we believe, to be the best Workmanship Warranty in the industry. There may be situations in which we are unable to honor a customer’s request for specific material type as it would not support our Workmanship Warranty.
We do acknowledge, that these products and our price point may not be the best fit for every consumer. Our proposals are provided free of charge, so that consumers can review multiple proposals from multiple contractors and make a decision that is best for them.
Mr. G********* is correct when he states that we advised him we would not be able to do business with him. This is a result of Mr. G*********’ use of foul and hostile language to several members of our staff. While we value him as a customer, we are unwilling to tolerate this type of behavior when it comes to our staff.
We wish him the best in his search for a Home Improvement Contractor.
