Complaint: Re: Unprofessional behavior by “Moving Company”, broken and torn items On 12 July 2013 I contacted Manassas Transfer Inc. Agent for ******* ********* *** ***** with a request for a quote. I received immediate answer with a date of 15July for a representative to come to our house so we can receive an estimate on all the items that will need to be moved. The person who came seemed to very experience and answered the questions I had. I was sure that I will receive a quality full moving service and so I trusted Manassas Transfer Inc. Agent for ******* ********* *** ***** with my belongings. The moving date was set for 24 July 2013. On the moving day after my belongings were unloaded I noticed that the brown sofa was torn, scraped and small cuts. The top of a desk was damage as well as the blue sofa pillow. I immediately brought this to the head movers’ attention. In addition to all of the above, when brought to the head movers’ attention his response was non caring and quickly before I could finish any sentence was stated “that this was not done by us”. With this all in mind, Manassas Transfer Inc. Agent for ******* ********* *** ***** has poor customer service, not once did they contact me when they received the signed service performance report, reflecting my comments and claim of the condition of my items. I had to contact them. They did not provide any survey, because I feel they are already aware of the poor service they provide. I had to contact Manassas Transfer Inc. Agent for ******* ********* *** ***** and stated my claim and there response was send them pictures to there website and once the manager review the pictures, someone will contact us. I feel they have no intention on contacting us. I will also be sending this information to our military families throughout Virginia.

Desired Settlement: Replacement of item.

Business Response: Manassas Transfer has been in business going on 52 years and we handle all of our claims in the same fashion...in the order in which they were received.  A claim form was sent to ***. ****, and we are waiting for it to be completed and returned to our office.  We did receive her pictures, however, we still need to have a claim form on file, before anything is settled (which will be done under the Basic Liability 60 cents per pound, since Full Value Protection was not purchased).

We regret that the relocation of her household goods did not take place without incident, but you can be sure that her claim will be taken care of in a timely manner.
