Complaint: We are in the final stages of planning our new home with Hanover. We have finalized exterior and interior plans and have returned our good faith estimate to the bank and are waiting for a closing date. We have made multiple calls to *** ********, the president of Hanover Homes, to finalize plans with him. We were instructed to do this by his secretary, ***** *******. We have called and left voicemail message for over 2 weeks without any return call . Yesterday 9/19/13, my husband called *** ******** again and ***** ******* answered his phone. She stated that they were all being laid off as of tomorrow, 9/20/13 and that *** would not be building any more homes. Yet she had no details or further assistance for us. We have continually called and left multiple messages for *** ******** and ***** ******* and no one has returned our call. We have given them a deposit of $500.00. ***** told us she didn't understand why *** wasn't returning our calls because she personally gave him more than one message from us.
Desired Settlement: We desire a conversation with *** ********, the President of Hanover Homes to explain what is going on. We are a few weeks away from starting to build our home and have been told the company will no longer do it but without any explanation or where to go next. We also at least want a refund of our deposit of $500.00. If we have to start looking for another home builder I do not want to delay the process. We most likely will have a higher interest rate for bank loan, and are very anxious to have our home built.
Business Response: I did have communications with ***** & ***** ****** and provided them with an explanation as to why I had decide to return their deposit and provided them with an alternative. They declined that option and subsequently I returned their $500 deposit on 9/27/2013. I hope this satisfactorily answers their complaint.
