    In Feb 2020 at my rental home in Northern Virginia [****************, Lorton, VA] I had Garneski AC & Heating install a brand new AC and Heating system.They installed it on 03-12-2020, and issued a warranty contract stating I would be covered for two years for parts and labor, and Garneskiwould never make any unauthorized repairs to the system without obtaining Owner approval.On 23 August I received a notice from my Property Management Co. that AC was not cooling the home and asked how I wanted to handle the problem.I told them "notify Garneski as I have free diagnostic service for the next two years [a brand new system] and asthey installed AC and Heating on 03-12-2020, the system is under waranty."We told them we would need to approve services; We also called Garneski to remind them of same.We got a bill [no approval was given]for $437 to replace a capacitor in the system. I called, spoke with their Opns Manager, and he agreed they did not get approval.The Cost is excessive.

    Attached is the warranty and Product information on the new Garneski  AC Unit that I bought and had Garneski install in 03-12-2020;  Also attached is the invoice that Garneski sent me whereby they overcharged for the replacement of a capacitor [$437] and never obtained Approval for installation.

    When I spoke the first time with their Opns manager [Mr. J***********] he stated that he would pay for the entire service if I could find a better price; I called my Rental manager, who then went and found a company, **** AC and Heating out of Manassas, Va., who stated they would do the installation for $247.

    I sent this back to Mr Garneski in an email [attached as well.]
    Since this time I have called Garneski 8 times and Mr. J********** will not take any calls, nor will he return any calls from me, as I have left messages for him to call me each time.  

    I sincerely hope we can get to the bottom of this as he critically overcharged for the capacitor and admittedly told me on the phone that they had not gotten approval for any work.  If they had told me that they would have charged $437 for a replacement of a capacitor, I would never have allowed this.  Then they had the nerve to simply charge three times the amount for replacement of the capacitor. I can verify my calls to Garneski with his Personnel, my email and response from **** AC and heating out of Manassas, and the price quoted by them, and my emails to Garneski.  Garneski has not called back or returned any calls or emails today.  If they are not responsive I will go online to the personnel in the Northern Virginia  area and place a written complaint on them, their services, and their breech of contract behavior as well as for their subsidiary offices here in Florida.

    Was referred to Garneski through Carrier's website. Technician showed up on time and were very professional. Diagnosed and replaced a faulty capacitor. Excluding the service charge, the capacitor was quoted at approximately $500. This was paid. After the service was completed, I found out how bad a decision I had made when I clicked on their message for providing a "Rate and review" link. The link automatically provided a good review, but did send me to their Yelp reviews location where I was able to read some fairly negative reviews regarding parts mark-ups. In my case, the capacitor could be purchased from $5 to $20 from Walmart or Amazon. I would be willing to accept 50-100% mark-ups, but 500% to 1000% mark-ups are very unexpected from a "reputable company".
