Local area residents are being inundated with phony phone calls on both their home and mobile phones from fraudsters pretending to represent WestJet.
Phone calls typically begin with an automated message claiming you have traveled or booked a flight recently and that you have either won a prize or that there is a problem with your "account."
The purpose of the calls is to trick you into giving out personal information such as usernames, passwords, email addresses, banking and credit card information.
