    On 8/26/22 myself and my spouse (***** ******) went for dental cleanings to Gentle Touch Family Dentistry. We verified with our insurance company (MetLife) and the provider that they were in network before the appointment. After our cleanings I paid $26 for a non covered service, fluoride treatment. I was told that I would have no other copay as the insurance covers cleaning and X-ray in full. In October I received a bill. I called the provider and informed them this was a mistake and to send it to the insurance again as I have no copay. They stated they will and I heard nothing more until today. 1/19/23 I received a bill for $114. I called the provider to ask why they had not sent this to the insurance. The representative stated she had and that my portion is $114. I informed her that my out of pocket is $0 according to my plan that they had verified before treatment. She stated that she is not willing to do anything further and I have to pay. She then ended our call. I then reached out to MetLife. The gentleman on the phone informed me they had made payment under their contract rate and that I indeed have a balance of $0 owed to this provider. He offered to call them while I waited on hold to try and resolve the situation. When he came back he stated the representative at the dental office would not allow him to speak, she simply told him that I had to pay and that he was preforming illegal activity by calling. He attempted to go over the payment they had sent and she wouldn’t continue the conversation. He informed me at this point there isn’t much they can do as they have made the payments. He informed me to try and file a grievance to have them removed as in network providers and I am happy to do so, but this doesn’t help me with the false charges. I do not think it would be right for me to pay for a fully covered procedure that my insurance has already paid them for. I have included the bill I received which does show insurance payments.
