I have called My Great Lakes on two occasions (4/25/2023 and 4/20/2023) to request my student loans be placed in repayment and NOT forbearance. Both times I was told they already have this noted in my file but have yet to do so. I also explained both times that this is necessary otherwise I risk losing my house mortgage. It is now April 31 and there is no follow up - my status still shows as in forbearance.

Great lakes referred me to FASFA. ***** said that they do not have the information and, that only the servicer would. They suggested I reach out to my school. When I spoke with **************************** they also said that only Great LAkes can confirm that the loans were dispersed for undergraduate. This is documentation / verification that I need to qualify for a new mortgage. I will not have a place to live if this can not be resolved.

My student loans were paid in full as of October 2020. Fast forward to November 2022, I was approved for the *********************** Student Loan forgiveness. However, the courts blocked the student loan forgiveness in November. Yet, as of Feb. 9, 2023 they initiated a payment to my account, which I have not received. Now, they are reporting a balance I owe them of $20,000 for funds never received. Meanwhile, they have reported the original loan balance of $34,*** to the credit bureaus.

I have been paying Payment Reference Number: *************** to Great Lakes. I was not aware in the beginning of the pandemic that a refund could be requested on payments rendered on and after 3/13/2020. Below are the qualified payments during that time frame: 3/23/2020Overpayment$-336.85$-336.85$0.00$0.00$0.00 3/23/2020Payment$37,822.00 $37,821.98$0.02$0.00$-336.85 3/13/2020Payment$385.56 $289.91 $95.65$0.00$37,485.13 I requested 9/8/2022 a refund of the above payments. It has been 117 calendar days and 77 business days since my request. I've sent emails (attached to complaint) checking on the status of the request. Responses to my email have stated it would take anywhere from 60 days to indefinete delay of initiating the refund. I have monitored the online account and see no indication of action taken. I have also monitored online that there appears no rhyme or reason the order processing refund requests as there have been persons submitting requests days/weeks after mine and receiving refunds. I am seeking at this time full refund of the above qualified payments to my current mailing address (listed on this complaint) that was verified on the 9/8/2022 phone call.

They are reporting inaccurate Information on my credit report. That law states that information has to be 100% accuracte and it is not reporting that way therefore it must be deleted. The date opened, amount owed, last reported date, date last active, and date of last payment are all reporting inaccurate therefore the account must be removed from my consumer report.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Attached is the proof that this account is being reported inaccurate on my transunion and experian. 15 U.S. Code 1681s2 - Responsibilities of furnishers of information to consumer reporting agencies, (B)Reporting information after notice and confirmation of errors
A person shall not furnish information relating to a consumer to any consumer reporting agency if
(i)the person has been notified by the consumer, at the address specified by the person for such notices, that specific information is inaccurate; and
(ii)the information is, in fact, inaccurate.

I have provided proof that they are in fact in violation of the law therefore the inaccurate accounts must be removed from my consumer report. Everything must be 100% accurate and as we see in the two attachement there are inaccuracies that are clear. Delete the account from my transunion and experian immediately. This is the third time I've complained about inaccurate information being reported on my consumer report by them and they are still being allowed to furnish inaccurate data. Enough is enough please delete the inaccurate account once and for all it is the law and I know my rights.

      To whom it may concern,

Once again I am writing to report a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) by Great Lakes Higher Education Corporation. On 12/29/2022, I sent a letter to Great Lakes requesting my 3 disclosures under 15 U.S. Code **** - Obligations with respect to disclosures of personal information. Despite multiple requests, Great Lakes has only provided one of the disclosures, which is the promissary note, and has failed to provide the other two disclosures required by law under 15 U.S. Code ****.

The first request was made on 11/29/2022 and the most recent request was on 12/29/2022. Despite having two chances to provide all three disclosures, Great Lakes has failed to do so, which is a violation of my rights under the ***** As a result, they need to delete the information they are reporting from the credit reporting agencies immediately.

I am writing to request your intervention in this matter. I believe that Great Lakes should be held accountable for their failure to comply with the law and should be required to delete the information they are reporting from the credit reporting agencies immediately.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
