Warning: Watch Out for McDonald's Facebook Scam

Posted Wednesday, July 21, 2010 in Consumer/Business Services

Another day, another scam on Facebook. This time the scam features McDonald's.

What to watch out for:

A message that says "OMG!! McDonalds might soon shut down because of this, you have to see this."

What ever you do, don't click on the link! The program will attempt to steal your password.

Anyone with half a brain knows that McDonald's is not going to shut down or close. They are a multi-million dollar business and have been around since 1955. People need to use their common sense and check things out before hitting the panic button.

Thanks for the tip. I wish you had a link to Facebook right here so we could post this to our friends.

By not telling the public why they should not click on that site, it almost seems like they are trying to get the public to click on the site to satisfy their curiosity.

It steals your password.

Why didn't you say why people shouldn't click on the link? I know why but by your not telling people why in your warning, some will become curious and we all know what can happen when people become curious. CLICK
