Warning: Fake Japanese Tsunami Videos Scam Facebook Users

Posted Wednesday, March 16, 2011 in Consumer/Business Services

Usually when a natual disaster happens, cybercriminals pop up and take advantage of those unsuspecting. This is exactly what happened with a recent scam making its way around Facebook.

The scam artists create Facebook pages that have the title "Japanese Tsunami RAW Tidal Wave Footage!" and claim to contain videos of the Japanese tsunami videos. They use those videos to lure users to a malicious site where it triggers an automatic 'Like' and asks for the user's personal info.

The article refers to a referral to a malicious site where it triggers an automatic "Like." What does this "Like" mean or do? Thanks
