Due to the enormous amount of phishing attacks lately on twitter, the company is taking action to protect its users, according to CNET News.
The social networking site will route all submitted links through a filter which will be able to detect malware links and make them inoperable.
How will this be accomplished exactly? Twitter will launch its own short url service -- twt.tl. -- so even if a user clicks on it, he or she will not be affected by the malware.
This new service will be focused on twitter's direct messaging and e-mail notification since a majority of attacks occur through those.
