With many curious consumers anxiously awaiting the debut of the iPhone 5, social media scammers are taking full advantage and baiting victims with promises of an "inside look." It is important to exercise restraint when random links pop up around social media networks, reports Macgasm.
Many scam links have been surfacing on Facebook promising to "expose" the iPhone 5 for the first time and once you click the link and fill out a captcha, the website posts the exact same thing
on your wall for all of your followers/friends to see.
Other scams include filling out surveys in order to reveal the "first look" of the phone. Therefore, if it seems fishy, it most likely is. It's only a matter of time until one of these links takes you to a malware infested website.
