Saks Fifth Avenue Giving Away Gift Cards

I heard about an interesting promotion Saks Fifth Avenue is doing today ... They are giving out gift cards if you make a purchase of $250 or more (today only). Customers can either by online or visit a store to be eligible for the free card.

I wonder if this will be effective? You think?
