Price Battle Pushes the Cost of Cell Phone Plans Down

Posted Wednesday, January 20, 2010 in Consumer/Business Services

Verizon and AT&T are in a price war over cell phone service fees, according to Yahoo! Tech.

Verizon made the first attack, announcing last Friday major cuts to its unlimited family talk and text plan, nearly cutting the price in half from $230 to $150 per month and its unlimited voice plans from $100 to $70 per month.  The new rates go into effect today.

AT&T lowered prices for its individual unlimited plans by $30. How does this war affect consumers? Consumers who have a minute-based plan or limited plan with a set number of minutes per month will not be affected. Only users with unlimited plans with either AT&T or Verizon will be affected.

I received a prize report claim form that looked so official that I almost sent the $20.00 in. But I work hard for my money as almost all of do except these people. I am sending a copy to the BBB and one back to them letting the person know that someone is trying to put a stop to their laziness. Please investigate the following:Prize Information Bureau P.O.Box 98699,Las Vegas, NV 89193-8699 It says a person will get $ 3,276,450.00 now who doesn't need that!

They're BOTH still too expensive. I'll stick with my Vonage home phone and my Tracfone cell phone. Together, my phone expenses total less than $40 per month.
