President Obama Establishes Interagency Financial Fraud Enforcement Task Force

Yesterday at the Department of Justice, the Attorney General and other officials announced that President Obama established by Executive Order an interagency Financial Fraud Enforcement Task Force to further fight financial fraud, according to the FBI.

The new task force replaces the Corporate Fraud Task Force created in 2002 by President Bush and will work with state and local officials to investigate and prosecute financial crimes, ensure just and effective punishment, address discrimination in lending and financial markets and recover money for victims.

The Financial Fraud Enforcement Task Force or FFETF is composed of senior officials from more than twenty departments.
