Pitfalls of Discount Medical Plans Hurts Consumers

Do you know the difference between medical insurance coverage and discounted medical plans? Many consumers don't and end up paying for it in the end, according to American Consumer News

Traditional medial insurance coverage insures that treatments and procedures will be covered as long as the monthly premium is in good standing.  Discounted medical plans do not offer coverage for any expenses. What happens is that the company providing the insurance takes a fee in exchange for a list of pre-approved doctors, health care providers and drug companies who have discounted plans. 

Discounted medial plans hurt struggling consumers so when discounted insurance is sold as medical insurance, consumers grab it not realizing when they will need it in a time of crisis, they'll end up hurting more.
