A new phishing attack hit Twitter over the weekend, luring twitters into giving away their user information, according to
Mashable.
Once twitter accounts were penetrated, messages were sent from the user's direct messaging system to friends' lists. IT security firm Sophos has more detailed information of the attack including a video. Unfortunately, the attack didn't stop there. The second wave consisted of sending out spam via direct messaging, but used a different message.
Twitter users are advised to update their password if their account has been compromised.
