Online Advertising Scams Keep Popping Up

You can't believe everything you see on the Internet and with millions of ads on various websites, a lot of people still fall pray to advertising scams, according to ABC7.

One such site, endorsing a product called Slim Chews claims to eliminate your appetite.  But when consumers received the product, not only did it leave a bitter taste in their mouth but additional charges were made to their account.  Turns out, when you sign up for the free trial, you are also agreeing to be billed for other products.

There are some signs to watch out for so you can avoid being scammed.   Consumers should be wary of diet products that promises immediate, effortless and or guaranteed weight loss and words like “breakthrough,” “secret,” “exclusive,” or “miraculous.” Finally, consumers should also be skeptical of self-proclaimed health advisers and of unverified testimonials.

I checked yesterday and Summer Bay Resort is no longer BBB Accredited. You can review their report here:

I am trying to find out if there are complaints re: Great Vacations Now operating under Summer Bay Resort. I read many unfavorable comments about those who have taken the trip offered by Summer Bay. I just purchased several trips from Great Vacations Now. I noticed they have the BBB Online Reliability Program logo on their letterhead. Frankly, that made me feel like it was an ok place but when I tried to have the BBB site look it up they could not find the telephone number or address so I got nothing. I would appreciate an answer ASAP as I have a limited time to cancel out this agreement. Thanks Bonnie Hanson
