Nokia Announces Charger Recall

Posted Monday, November 09, 2009

If you have a Nokia phone charger, depending on the model, a recall announced today may affect you, according to PC World. The faulty chargers which were manufactured by BYD Electronic Company of China, causes a shock hazard to users due to plastic casing that could separate, exposing the charger's internal components.

The recall affects three models: AC-3E and AC-3U, which were made between June 15 and August 9, 2009, as well as model AC-4U, manufactured between April 13 and October 25, 2009.  Consumers can check if their charger is affected by the recall by looking for the model number and name of the manufacturer on the product's label. If your charger is affected, you will also need to look for a long set of numbers along the bottom which is the product's identification number. You can return your Nokia phone charger using the company's exchange website or call Nokia directly at 1-888-Nokia2U.
