Missouri Company Busted for Office Supply Scam

The Better Business Bureau has issued two warnings about SVT, Inc., an office supplier based in Columbia, Missouri, according to St. Louis News.

Here's how the scam works: SVT calls your company's purchasing agent to try and sell them office supplies, using going-of-out business reduced prices as bait. If your purchasing agent is not convinced,  SVT will go on to say they have already talked it over with their companies CFO and the purchases are okay.

Here's the real kicker though.   Even if your company doesn't order anything from them, SVT will send A LOT of office supplies, leaving your company with a very big bill to pay for unwanted office supplies.

Complaining to SVT is useless too since all you will get is a recorded message. The company is also untraceable since they don't have a website and are not listed in the Columbia phone directory.
