Know What You’re Buying When Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month

With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, consumers are finding more opportunities to support their favorite charities from their everyday purchases. Donors should make sure to understand how sales of products or other promotions will benefit a charity. If maximum impact is important to you, make sure you understand what portion of the purchase price will benefit the charity. It’s not unusual for pennies on the dollar to actually support the charity. In fact, in many instances, you can make a bigger impact through a direct contribution without purchasing the product. By understanding exactly how the charity will be supported as a result of your purchase, you can ensure your expectations are met.
