Ticketmaster Entertainment and Live Nation merged on Monday, gaining approval from The Justice Department, according to
The Washington Post.
Ticketmaster is the largest seller of tickets for games, concerts and other live events and Live Nation is another major ticket seller with over 100 concert venues. The merger worries consumer advocates that the merger accelerates rising ticket prices.
The new company, called Live Entertainment, was the first merger deal to come under review of the Obama administration's Justice Department. The hope for the new company that the merger will allow for lower ticket pricing.
