How Traveling is Different This Holiday Season

With Thanksgiving less than two weeks away, traveling home can be hectic. But surprisingly, 84% of travelers are optimistic about traveling this season, according American Consumer News.

Traveling this holiday season also differs from previous years for several reasons. Fewer people are using the holidays as an excuse to take a vacation. For those folks who decide at the last minute that they are going home for Thanksgiving, it's not a good idea. Know your flight schedule, give yourself time to get to the airport and run through the security so you don't miss your flight because a new ticket may not be available until 2010.

Check to make sure your flight is not overbooked and if you're bringing presents for the family, you can send those earlier so you won't be overwhelmed.
